Get on Board

Northside Partnership are delivering a 5 week ‘Get on Board’ course, to encourage and support local representation on local Boards and committees. They are hosting an Introductory Session for anyone who wishes to find out more on Monday 1st November, 7pm-8pm. No registration is needed to attend this Introduction.

Why should I consider volunteering?
What’s in it for me?
What would be expected of me?
Would there be supports to ensure I can contribute to the Board‘s work?

Week 4
What makes a good Board?
Governance
Structures, policies, plans, controls
Effective Board meetings
How would I raise concerns regarding Board procedures?

Week 5

What next?
Am I ready to join a Board? Why / Why not?
How would I go about offering to volunteer for a Board?
Discussion and evaluation of course content
