Sphere 17 Residential Trip to Wales-August 2019

Well done to all the participants who took part in a 4 day residential to the Arete Outdoor Adventure Centre in Llanrug, Wales. The group took part in challenging activities such as climbing Lion Rock in Snowdonia National Park, A 5 hours Gorge Scramble and on the final day Caving, Climbing and Abseiling in a slate quarry, North Wales.

The Young People learned to have a positive ‘Can Do’ attitude with a focus on team work and communication. The evening sessions explored issues such as race and gender equality, being ‘the best you can be’ and recognising our qualities.

All participants could name at least one thing they learned about themselves over the few days and received high praise from Dave (Arete instructor) about their high energy, caring attitude with each other and how much he enjoyed working with them. The group represented themselves, their area and Sphere 17 brilliantly-The youth work team were super proud of them!

A big thanks to Dave and the Arete staff for making the trip so fantastic…Great memories were created. Please see the link for some great photos of the week…
