Woodale Youth Justice Project

Woodale Youth Justice Project is a Youth Diversion Project (YDP) that works with young people aged 8-17 years from the areas of Priorswood and Darndale. Woodale Youth Justice Project currently provides the following services:

~ Early Intervention 8-11 years

~ YDP 12-17 years

~ Family Support (only for the families of young people engaging with the project, not open for external referrals)

~ Harder to Reach / Detached Youth Work

Young people are referred to our service by professionals who believe that the young person might be at risk of becoming involved in offending behaviour or those who are actively involved in offending behaviour. These professionals may include:

~ Garda Juvenile Liaison Officer (JLO)

~ Youth Justice Workers

~ Youth Workers

~ Home School Community Liaison Officers

~ School Completion Project

~ Social Workers

~ Family Support Workers

Our goal is to divert young people away from offending behaviour and/or other factors that puts the young person at risk of committing a crime in the first place. We do this by developing individual case management plans for the young people, whereby we address their needs & risks and support their strengths. We achieve this by offering support, encouragement and opportunities related to education, training, employment, work experience, and involvement in pro-social activities. We work with young people in a one-to-one capacity, as well as in small, structured groups. The Woodale YJP seeks to encourage a better quality of life for young people in the community.
