Pride June 2025

Sphere 17 provide a safe and supported space for young people from the LGBTQ+ community to hang out, meet other young people with Youth Workers available to chat should they wish.  This  group meets weekly, and we cover topics like the importance of inclusion in youth settings and schools, queer rights & activities such as walking debates around respect and human rights.  We also speak about the history of Pride in Ireland and why Pride is still considered a protest in 2025.  Should you wish to hear more about this group or want to get involved drop us an e mail to generalmail@sphere17.ie or send us a DM on instagram @sphere17kilbarrack
BelongTo invited Sphere 17 Regional Youth Service to attend their Pride morning in Dublin City Council (DCC) Headquarters building in the city centre this year, where there was a buffet breakfast, face painters, music, a drag queen DJ, fun games & plenty of badges and merch were available to visibly display support for the parade.
We were each given flags that represented our service and we began a smaller version of our Pride walk from the DCC building to O’Connell Street where we joined in with the main Pride parade and walked together to Pride Village.
Pride Village was a great opportunity for young people to see activism in action as there were numerous community activist groups taking part on stage, along with choirs and music acts. There were stands all around the park with different information and support for LGBTQ+ people.
We had a great day celebrating individuality & diversity! Shout out to Finglas Youth Resource Centre (FYRC) who were our partners for the day and massive thank you to BelongTo for the invitation and a wonderful day of celebration!  Roll on Pride 2026 🙂
