Q & A evening with Local Politicians
We had a great turn out recently for our Q & A session with local Politicians which was held in Priorswood Youth Activity Centre on Monday 29th April 2013.Another session took place in our Senior Drop In on Thursday 2nd May 2013 in the Regional Youth Facility, Darndale. Womens Mini Marathon June 4th 2012
Many thanks to all the lovely ladies who completed the Womens Mini Marathon on June 4th 2012 in Sphere 17s honour. Well done to you all! We really appreciate your efforts and the money raised will help fund our Summer Project! :) Easter Activities Darndale!
"During the Easter holidays young people on Sphere 17 enjoyed taking part in a number of activities.The young people had two main highlights ,Easter baking in which young people made easter cakes,birds nests and Easter figures with marazipan.Young people also enjoyed a trip to Newbridge Farm where they got to see some lovely new born Easter animals. Other Easter activities included go karting,BMX track outing and window painting to name but a few.Overall, young people had a lots of fun in Sphere 17 over the Easter festivities" Darndale Thursday Night Drop In!
The Darndale Thursday evening Drop In is going from strength to strength with numbers of up to the mid 40's attending from 7.30-9.45pm on a Thursday evening...Pop along if your interested in meeting other young people and hanging out with music, food, pool etc.. Darndale Curved Wall Mural
Our indoor curved wall was devised and created in a two week period with young people in the Darndale Regional Youth Facility in collaboration with artist Sarah Kilcoyne. It looks really great and we are all really proud of it! Long may it fresco a go go! Susans Volunteer Award!
We are delighted to announce that Susan Reynolds a volunteer in Sphere 17 last Friday night received an award for Outstanding Achievement Award for Voluntary Youth Work. The glitzy presentation ceremony took place in the Radission hotel in Dublin 8 and saw a total of 23 awards been given.Susan has been volunteering with the service every Monday afternoon for almost two years.Susan has developed her own dance group during this time and through this has worked wonders in relation to the development of young people who have gained a new confidence and ability to perform in public.Well done again Susan,you have done us proud. Boys are back in Town!

Belcamp Babes Art and Crafts Sale
The Belcamp Babes ran an Art and Crafts sale in Belcamp/Darndale village centre to raise funds for their residential trip later in the year. All the pieces were handmade by young people of Sphere17 and the total raised was one hundred and twenty euro. Well done girls, Lilliput here you come! Galway World Cup 2011

On Friday 19th November we took a group of 12 young people for a late evening walk up the mountains....We had a ball and the reaction from young people included 'best trip ever' ...you can't get better than that! Wed 27th Feb 2010 Storytelling/Illustration Workshops
We ran a two hour drop in for 3 weeks where young and mature adults from the community came in and shared stories around 3 subjects; music, making your communion/confirmation and hobbies. An artist called Geraldine Lane sat and sketched images evoked from the different stories and in Feb 2010 we will have a launch of the illustrated book! We will keep you posted!
