Hi, Lauren and Saoirse here. We are two of the Young Volunteers here in Sphere 17. There is 8 of us in total, Lauren, Saoirse, Teegan, Nikita, Karla, Josh, Callum and James. The Young Volunteers are a group of young people from sphere 17 who train alongside the youth workers to facilitate and organise activities and also be another person the young people can rely on and talk to. Young Volunteers are closer in age to the young people than the Youth Workers are and because of this we hope young people will feel more comfortable talking to us. We chose to become Young Volunteers because we wore considered some of the Young People in Sphere 17 who would suit this course. We have also been in Sphere 17 for a few years and have practically grown up here because of this, we wanted to experience having more responsibility and being a Young Volunteer.
