Regional Summer Sphere

Summer Sphere went Regional on the 9th August. There was plenty of fun, laughter, pampering, off- sides and burgers throughout the week and yes we’ve got the evidence to prove it! (Check out the photo gallery)

To pick but a few highlights from the week there was a Northside Football Tournament in Priorswood Park bringing together 70 young people from Dublin 17, Kilmore and Ballymun who battled it out to win the coveted Title. Congratulations to the Priorswood Team who walked away with it. Many Thanks, to Jimmy in the FAI and Niall in DCC and the Staff in Dean Swift for helping make this event happen.

Later on that night we had our own X Factor Final in the Sphere 17 Building in Darndale. As you all know acts had made their way through the heats to perform live in the final. But all the practice, sweat, tears and flips payed off as the audience and judges were treated to an unexpectedly high level of talent. We were wowed by dancing, singing and guitar playing and the crowd definitely got behind the contestants and entered into the spirit of the night. The judges decision was very tough and in the end we had 3 winning acts. So congratulations to Nicole and Shannon Byrne, Conor Yeats and Nadine Kinsella. A special word of thanks to Madeline - DCC, Fr. Leo – New Parish Priest in Darndale and Gerry Charles - Dublin Bus for supporting and judging the event. Watch This Space

The week finished on another high note with “The Big Move” which is now an annual event on the Green on Glin Road. There was approx 140 young people came along to join in the fun. On the day there was plenty of entertainment including football, sack races, face painting, balloon making, BBQ , DJ and of course the water fight or water war might be more apt! It’s fair to say that no body was safe from getting soaked that day and the water levels in the Bonnybrook Area were at an all time low!!
