Football Blitz

On May 15th there were some huge football events happening-There was the FA cup final in England as well as Bohemian’s triumph in the Setanta Cup Final but the real football spectacle was taking place at the Dean Swift Pitch in Priorswood Park. Teams from Sphere 17-Bonnybrook and Priorswood, Kilmore West Youth Centre and two teams from Ballymun Youth Centre took part in a 5-a-side football blitz. With 6 teams in total participating and the sun shining, an afternoon of sublime skill and excellent sportsmanship took place with a thrilling final which was won by Ballymun A team beating Priorswood A in an entertaining match.

The event was the first of what hopefully will become a regular in the North Dublin area, with all spectators and players treated to a bar-b-q and fantastic football. It was open to players aged 15-19 years of age. With trophies and medals supplied by Dublin City Council and teams supported by staff from all 3 centres, this was a huge success. Hopefully a Sphere 17 team can take home the trophies next time!

Young Anglers Exhibition

On Sunday May 23rd Leona and Sinead brought 10 young people ranging in age from 10 - 18 to the "Young Anglers Exhibition" held in Howth. This coincided with Fisheries Awareness week. We were given fishing advise and lessons, brought out on a boat trip and some lucky young people even brought home prizes!

10k Sponsored Walk

On the 31st May, Bonnybrook group "Carls Angels" took part in a 10k Sponsored Walk from Sutton to Howth along with Youth Workers Ashley and Leona. We walked along the cliffs enjoying spectacular views of the coast. This sponshorship will help to fund a residential trip for this group to Kippure Estate in June which we are all looking forward to!
